The Dojo: Heaton was opened in November 2020, amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
My name is Aaron Milan-Vega, and since 2006, I had been teaching Karate just down the road at Chillingham Road Primary School, which was the main hub for my business, Newcastle Goju-Ryu Karate Academy.
However, due to COVID-19, and the uncertainty with regards to returning to the school, I decided to take the plunge and lease my own venue in the summer of 2020.
Further lockdowns came and things are still uncertain around the world. But, what’s now certain is that we have a wonderful venue of our own to build upon leading into the future.
